What is a Multi-Channel Hearing Aid? This feature enables better fine-tuning of hearing aids to suit hearing loss. The signal can be divided into different channels and treated appropriately. Advantages Particularly with automatic hearing aids sound can be better turned to the persons hearing loss. For example many of the sounds that cover or mask noise are in the lower frequency range. This can be reduced with one channel operation whilst leaving the other higher frequency channel which include many of the speech sounds still intact.
Disadvantages Clinically none. Cost of these devices can however be of concern.
